This IS California and engine conversions are not to be taken lightly.
You need to get this puppy through smog and they can be a bear.
Just because VW sold that car in CA, doesn't mean you can automatically
put it into another vehicle of the same make.


I have heard the 91-94 Subaru FI 2.2 angine is a valid swap in CA. (From
Mr. RoadCow) but I have not heard that any others have been accepted by
the state of CA. Anybody else know?
