Mounting parts and other stuff is okay, but why use an adapter?

All 4-cyl. engines have the same bolt pattern for the transmission. So why
not use the bellhousing of a diesel vanagon. You can bolt the new 4-cyl.
engine right onto the bellhousing, no matter if it is manual or automatic
...
