Hello Mike,

My temperature gauge gave up too a while back. Turned out to be a broken wire for the temperature sender. Perhaps the 'dingbat' forgot to connect or damaged the wires that plug into your temperature sender. There are two wires attached to it, a brown and a yellow/red wire. The temperature sender is located on your thermostat housing, which is where he would be doing his fiddling. You will see the housing as a black contraption, front left of the engine and a little below, with a few hoses connected to it. (looking into the engine bay from the rear) You need to get underneath to get a real good look at it. Should have a small rubber boot on it. (Bentley 19.11)

Good luck
