Troy, you can never have too much stuff. You just won't use it all. We have all tried to work out our packing list for years. Here are a couple of my hints for non remote areas, but others will disagree.

1. I take some kind of folding chair. 2. Simple food for about 3 days. 3. Aux. battery 4. No extra radio. 5. Firewood if unavailable at site. 6. Marshmallows and Franks (if meat eater) 7. Duct tape, twine, rope, small tarp. 8. Lots of tools and butane soldering iron. 9. Siphon, tire repair aerosol, plugs, inflater. 10. Folding shovel, hatchet, camping saw, hammer.

The PO of my diesel westy added some aftermaket roof lights that are nice when I need more light, but I don't leave them on.

This is what I do. Everyone is different.

Bill

I have a '80 vanagon camper with stove, fridge, sink, water, external plugin, pop top and the works. I would just like to know if anyone had a list of essentials to have a fun group camping trip or indivdual trip to a forest. Please keep in mind that this is an 18 year old, so no romance novels, or needle work. Just essentials. This will be for spring and summer camping not winter. Should i also pack an extra battery if no electricity is provided?

Troy
