Easy list to make, esp. for us younger guys:

girlfriend
mountain bikes
climbing gear
foldable chairs to watch the sunset
good food (none of that insta-mix dried crap, you gotta friggen
kitchen, use it!)
good beers on ice.
deck of cards, scrabble, or some mindless diversion
tunes (tapes or CDs)


hmm, cant think of anything else...
My advice is dont buy any more crap than your van has room to store
outta site. Having to move junk around to set up the table, put down
the bed, put up the seat, etc etc. takes the fun outta westi camping
for me quicker than you can say "japanese compact car"

Where have the years gone? Why, into the usual vices of the romantic
idealist: into sloth amd melancholy, each feeding upon and
reinforcing the other, into love and marriage and the begetting of
children, into the strenuous maneuvers of earning a living without
living to earn, into travel and play and music and drink and talk and
laughter, into saving the world - but saving the world was only a
hobby. Into watching cloud formations float across our planetary
skies. But mostly into sloth and melancholy and I don't regret a
moment of it.
