Subject:      Dreaded Squeal of Death from Heater Fan Motor

I've been serenaded quite often lately by the dreaded squeal of death emanating
from my Westfalia's front heater fan motor. Since the outside temperature has
levelled out at about minus 27 Celsius (metric, you know) I will not be
attempting to remove the dash for a fan motor replacement until spring rolls
around (which will not be for some time yet). As short-term relief, I've been
wondering about simply drilling a teeny-tiny hole in the motor fan housing
through which I would squirt some lubricant like WD40 to quieten the squealing.
Any one done this or have any comments (well, duhh!...listees ALWAYS have
comments).
