A "ground" is simply the point on the body where negative electrons continue their trip back to the battery's negative terminal. Most of the wires in your van carry positive electrons, flowing away from the battery, through various lamps and gizmos, the remnants seeking to return to the battery. They make their return, primarily through the metal body of the vehicle, saving the manufacturer the needless cost of placing two wires, and offering some other lesser benefits.

The "Star Grounds" are simple clusters of 5-10 grounds all at one point on the body. The terminals and wires radiate from a central screw point, so it resembles a star. They are no more important than any other grounds. They are ALL important.

Dear List,

A recent post mentioned the "star grounds" under the dash. They sound important! Can anyone tell me what and where they are?

Thanks,

Woody
