A really economical solution is to go to a yard and pickup about 4 or 5 stock VW speakers. The reason i say 4 or 5 is sometimes they look fine and sound like s**t. No reason. I compared two that looked identical to the eye and one sounded great, the other rattled. I guess something is torn or detached in the back. Got all five speakers for $5.00.

I thought about putting bigger, better, speakers in, but talk radio and low volume rock music are handled fine by GOOD Vw speakers. Besides, after rebuilding the engine recently, I listen to my engine more than the radio. Guess I'm a little paraniod.

Can't beat these for cost or ease of installation. No drilling, no re-wiring etc. If you are going to listen to Ice Cube or Snoop Dog, you'll probably need something bigger. :-) It doesn't sound like that is the case though.
