HURST used to make a short shift kit for the Loaf's, don't know if it is still available, or if it is compatible with the Vanagon.

Find a copy of Dune Buggies and Hot VW's or even European Car. They may have vendors that still carry it.

I guess my question would be "WHY"? Short shift kits are for sports cars and people who want to go fast! You want to go fast, you got the wrong vehicle!!

Having said that, yes, I had a HURST short shift kit in my Loaf. It also had a 140 HP 2.0 liter 914 motor in it, with a regeared Tranny. Thing was faster than my '78 Scirocco up to 40 MPH, and the 'rocco engine was breathed on as well.
