The best choice for an auxiliary battery is a deep Cycle battery.  They are
found in marine stores and aoutomotive stores.  If you have money i recomend
the optima deep cycle.  Other batteries do work but the reason a deap cycle
is recomended is that it is designed to loose its charge and then be
re-charged.  If you drain a reqular batterie you degrade the quality of the
batterie and it may not hold a complete charge and cause you problems down
the road. In my 74 westy we just installed a deep cycle and it works great
takes the load of the battery and we can still have our gadgets when the car
is of withought woring that the car will not start.
