Tom Carringtons reply was right on. You need to keep your diesel geared
trans when the stock engine is used. Simply put your bell housing on it &
down the road you go fairly cheaply. $200 for a known good used trans is
decent. Remove 8 bolts and pop your housing off. A new gasket (or some
silicone if things are corroded) and pay attention to the condition of
the end of the input shaft. If the pilot bearing is going bad, it will
look buggered up.Fairly straight forward as these things go. P-Mail if
