Don't know 'bout you all but in my neck of the woods I couldn't afford the time to go looking for the things, if I knew my local dealer could get 'em for me - not at $2 ea. This is where the dealerships shine - they will deliver, gratis, any inky-dinky little part practically anywhere. 'Course you might have to convince your local garage to order 'em for you if you're miles from anywhere...

-----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM]On Behalf Of Nathan Richmond Sent: Monday, December 20, 1999 11:40 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: pop-top carriage bolts

I am in the process of restoring an abused '83 westy. I recently thouroughly cleaned and polished the pop-top. The top now looks great with the exception of the very rusted bolt heads. I looked everywhere for replacements, but was only able to find them at the VW dealer for an alarming $2 - $4 each. Does anyone know of another source for these metric bolts?

Thanks, Nate Richmond Cary, NC 27513
