I still think it's your ignition switch. You got a bad replacement or the wrong part number. My mechanic had to put three ingnition switches in my Vanagon before he found one that worked right. I also had those type of peculiar electical gremlins with the first two switches. Good Luck, Jaymac, 87 Vanagon GL
