Jonathan,

My '90 Vanagon has power mirrors which are heated, too, when you switch on the rear screen defroster. (On this double-glazed Westy, there actually isn't a rear screen defroster, so the dash switch only controls the heated mirrors).

Does switching on the heat make the mirrors work? I'm thinking frostbite. What's your temp over there?
