Joel-

Moisture in the distributor is often a SYPMTOM rather than a problem, and you don't want to occlusively seal the distributor.

What is he doing that gets his motor so wet? If the answer is "...fill in something dumb here..." tell him to stop doing dumb things with his vanagon. If the answer is "nothing", I'd suspect a one or more of the following:

He drives a very short distance each day He doesn't drive on the highway climb many hills You live near a body of water OR He may have a head gasket leak (in which case his motor oil would resemble mayonnaise).

If the problem is anyone (or a combination) of the first three, he should consider car-pooling, riding his bike, walking, or combining errands with his dive to work, to give the motor a chance to heat up completely. If this goes on for long, his exhaust will rust out as well. If he has a head gasket leak...welp...

Let me know how wrong I am. :)

Hey my brother is getting moisture in the distributor. We were wondering if there was some way to seal the cap so It could not get in.
