Subject:      Skiing and/or hiking in WV, MD or Southern PA

Hi,


At Tom Forhan's bus party several people suggested I should look
into Caanan valley in the Mongahela (sp) National Forest, WV
for good XC and mountain skiing.


I need some further advice on the national forest. I'm looking to
go backcountry skiing (or if there is no snow hiking), so I don't
want to go to one of those XC ski centers. I'd appreciate any
specific advice for nice uncrowded areas and/or recommendations
for guidebooks/maps.


I'm in Pittsburgh right now and will be doing this on the way
back to Baltimore. Advice on other nice palces to see along the way
would also be appreciated.
