Drive to the list member recommended mechanics in your 1962 MGA and interview them!

Get a copy of the Haynes manual and Bentley (for your own protection) and follow the list regularly. In a few months the most common problems and their solutions will be known to you, and when you go into your mechanic for service leave the Bentley on the passenger seat!

Between the MGA and the Bentley anyone will take you seriously!
