My local VW dealer does NOT use the 12 point CV joint bolts anymore. Not too
long ago I repacked my CV's and needed new bolts. I specifically asked for
the 12 point but the knowledgable parts person insisted that 6 points where
now standard issue. I prefer the 12 points at they can take much more
torque, provided you clean the bolt and seat the tool properly.
Correct me if wrong please.
