If you are still looking for a good mechanic in Oregon, I can give you the name of mine in the Northern region (although still south of Portland). He is the guy I use when the project goes beyond my abilities or my wife's timeline. The name is Mountainside Import Auto Service and they are in Newberg, OR. The phone number is 503-537-4085 and you can get a map on Yahoo by putting in this address: 32500 NE Haugen Rd. Newberg, OR 97132. Ask for Mark (the owner). He used to work for a VW dealer and has a lot of experience with the Wasserleaker, if you know what I mean. He tends to be a little more expensive but I've found he will always charge what he quotes or less. And he is more interested in your vehicle working safely and driving well than he is in making a buck. Another good sign is he is interested in being active in his community indicating that he has no intention of giving himself a bad name, making a buck, and then skipping town. Happy driving... Is there anybody on the list that can give me a recommendation or better yet a testimonial on a mechanic on the I-5 corridor in Oregon that has a proven record of success in diagnosing and repairing drivability problems? Skill with the computer system, the fuel injection, timing, sensors etc... and how they interact. What I'm looking for is that proverbial waterboxer Vanagon guru that I may throw myself at his feet.
