That is a good price for a 2019 mile haul. I paid $950 for mine for a similar distance because it was not running. $.40 to $.50 per mile is a good rate. This is cheaper than hauling it yourself.

If your vehicle can make the drive you could try a rider/driver matching service and find a student or someone to drive it for less. Check with AAA or local universities in both cities as well as http://www.rideboard.com.

You might check with the railroads if it can be driven on and off a train car. They might be cheaper, but it has to be derivable, and I don't like the idea of anything of mine left parked in rail yards.
