Thank you for that PerL of wisdom. You should know that one of the reasons I joined the list was because of your helpful suggestions in the archives.

Reasons I don't want to use the Saab calipers: 1- I don't have any. 2- I don't want too much braking in the rear because as I would then be faced with the possibility of having to deal with the brake bias. 3- Most FLAPS here laugh when you mention the word SAAB. And we probably have more SAAB's here than other parts of the country!

As previously discussed in this forum, the Vanagon does not have a variable or adjustable brake pressure regulator. Having a smaller rear caliper IMHO should make that a non-issue.

Reasons I would consider Saab calipers: 1- If I had one 2- If I install a brake proportioning valve 3- If I install bigger front brake calipers
