My understanding was that the changes will amount to taking 54 million vehicles off the road. The restrictions are to reduce certain pollutants to a fifth of what they are now per vehicle, so the effect will be the same as removing vehicles from the road. ------------------------------------------------------------------- How do you figure that? If the vehicles were removed from the road, roads would become less congested. But that won't happen, because there will be the SAME (if not more) vehicles on the road because anyone who gets rid of a vehicle will replace it with another. It may reduce pollution a little, but thats all. Does this legislation affect diesels? If not, trucks and buses will continue to spew out filth as they do now.
