Well well, I guess you just got lucky with your VW. But you tell this story to my pumps that blew the seal. Sulfur is a lubricant. No lube, no friction reduction. The VW diesel pumps did fine. It was these other "high performance" jobs that didn't hold up so well, including alot of the big rig jobs. For some reason, the pumps on the BMW 524td's seemed to worst of it. Of course, this is opinion is based on my experience first hand --- if the fact that I have owned and driven at least 8 different diesel vehicles of various sorts during the relevant time period means anything. So, with all due respect, you're not completely de facto correct on this one MB!
