Hi Alan,

Have you ever tried a semi-rectangular down-filled backpacking sleeping bag? Kind of in-between a tight fitting mummy style and those room for six friends coleman's. The North Face makes one called a Chrysalis, 80x33x22, can be zipped together, although I not sure if it takes 2 right hand zips., or 1 left and 1 right? I have 2 of these and they work great. Temp. rating is +20. These are currently on sale @ www.campmor.com reg. $179, sale price $129.97 Another great bag is made by is made by Marmot. I think it's called the "Sierra" they only make 1 semi-rectangular anyway as far as I remember. Similar dimensions to the TNF bag, rated at + 40 degrees, great summer/mild weather bag and get this, it weighs less than 2 pounds! I paid $149 @ Mountain Gear www.mgear.com. Even though these bags are slightly wider than our Westy's beds, the great thing about DOWN is that it will compresses effortlessly at the sides and have a wider comfort range within a given temperture rating. I have used both these bags in a variety of applications and they have performed great. Hope this helps.

Happy Trails

Rouy AKA Happy Camper because I camp alot: By foot(backpacking) mountain bike dirt bike(motorcycle) car(SUV) Jeep Unimog(best off-road camper I know of) Motorhome(well some call it camping)
