Hi Horace! Hope you had a Merry Holiday! As for my van, I finally came full circle and am going with a stock engine to go back in the vehicle. I'll save my modifications for a later date. The reason for this is that I found a local man who is a VW wizard. He happended to have two wasserboxers on hand and at the time was building one to go into his own van. After talking to him , he quoted me $1500 for the engine he was already working on for his van plus I could keep my old engine. So I struck the deal. I get a completely rebuilt engine...all new bearings, cylinders, pistons rings, guides, valves, etc, including new water pump and oil pump, et, etc, and I have my old engine to hot-rod if I want to play....which I do. The other places...AVP, Boston Engine, etc, wanted closer to $1900 AND my old engine, plus I was going to have to pay freight both ways on the core/new engine. I think this to be a better deal. Time will tell. Expect to have the engine installed and running by Jan 15. Will keep the list informed on progress and performance. Happy New Year!!! John Rodgers
