Dear List-

Just a follow up to our big adventure SC to MN and back. The return voyage was much less eventful (that's a good-thing). Roxi Blueboxi, ie. - the little bus that could - ran surprisingly well except for the mysterious cutting-out problem that I had mentioned in an earlier posting. The "bucking" (don't know if it's the infamous BUCKING bucking) seemed to happen well into our journey both there and back. Between 3000 and 4000 rpms I would loose power for split-second intervals. If I pushed it to around 4200 rpms it would smooth out, but I felt it was a little hard on the engine (??). I did bring it in to the VW Man in Minneapolis while we were in MN, but they said they could not get it to fail, so they had no clue. Someone from the list mentioned replacing the ignition wires with Bosche replacements. Might try that. I did manage to get around 20 mpg, but no other problems to report...amazing... but true! Anyway nice to be home safe-n-sound! Roxi looks tired but happy dawning her new "bra" from Christmas. Happy Y2K to all!

Scott and Candis [Roxi Blueboxi-- 88Westy]
