I know where in Alabama just out of Birmingham there is an absolutely mint "89 Wolfsburg - automatic trans - Red, like my "88 Model and I beleive very low mileage from the look of it - but I would have to check that out.

Problem with it is that the engine was stolen. No other known mechanical problems. The man that has it can easily install another engine, if some one wants it. The real problem is that because the engine was stolen, which is a major component, the insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss, and because it was declared a total loss, the only title available now is a salvage title. The present owner, a VW mechanic, is going to try and get a different title, but that is where it is now.

A little bizarre, a mint condition vehicle ------never so much as a ding in it anywhere....with a salvage title. Speaks to the screwyness of our laws.
