Actually, the 12 volt should get the fridge just as cold as propane or 110v. But the power must not be interrupted by turning the engine off. In the stock set up, the relay disconnects the fridge from the starter battery when the engine is shut off. If the power is interrupted it takes the fridge awhile to get the cooling cycle going again. Under these circumstances the 12v operation will not get the fridge as cold as propane.
