You,can also use an old CV body(be sure to take out the ball bearings or it won't fit) to lift the rear of the Vanagon about 1 1/2".You disconnect the shock and lift the vehicle to where the upper spring seat seperates from the spring,Put your CV body there, lower the vehicle back down bolt  your shock back up and you're done.I've been using this for 4 years with no problems.

The air lift idea sounds ideal. However .... Somebody also  mentioned using hockey pucks as risers to give the rear end more lift. No - this is not a Friday Funny! Can the person who knows this trick speak up, please - and share it? Thanks, Marshall Ruskin
I spoke with the folks at Air Lift this mooring.  They will send me their Air Suspension kit for the Vanagon.  I will install it on my Syncro and let you all know how it goes.  If everything works well we can also try it on a 2WD Vanagon.
