Todd:
If I'm not mistaken, both Ken at Vanagain = (www.vanagain.com) and Ron at Bus Depot (www.busdepot) sell replacement = bumpers, both OEM and aftermarket. Ken has the Projektzwo = bumpers, but they are EXPENSIVE.
At Bus Depot, they are $90:

Another alternative is a big beefy tubular bumper =
like the one David sells at

Subject: 1990 bumper
I'm trying to determine how difficult it is going to =
be to locate a bumper
for the 1990 Vanagon I may buy. I called our =
import junkyard, he said he
didn't have any 1987-1991 bumpers, didn't see any on =
his locater computer,
but if he did have one it would run $250 =
-$300.
Is this the sort of thing that is going to be =
difficult to find? And no, I
don't really want to bolt a treated 2x6 onto my =
$7,000 purchase.
Thanks.
