It's looking good for the testing of the Betts springs, i worked all weekend to clear a path so i can escape to the desert on wednesday.  I will swap the springs at the oasis, where i am meeting someone with a floor jack.:-).  It's about 40 miles each way of moderate to rough dirt, gravel, washboard, snow, hills, fast straights and some sand with whoops.  I will drive in on the stock springs and out on the betts.  Round trip will be about 800 miles.  The paved portion will include mountain passes and maybe some snow.

Thank you Derek for the new VC!  Last Easter, it took me 45 min. to make it up a 1/8 mile hill on the way out due to smow and mud  because i had my driveshaft out, and i was later humiliated by having to chain up over the sierra in a storm.

p.s. i got pushed to the side of the street near my house on the way home from the store today by Clinton's motorcade.  What a specatcle.  The presidnetial limo (and spare) is so elegant....then comes the parade of Suburbans and other white or very dark SUVs, the police, the black ford extended van with raised roof and blacked out windows and armour...i think that's the chemical/biological weapon decontamination/protection and assault unit..., and the ambulance was last, except for the motorcycle cop tag team...they leap frog shutting all intersections in the path oif the motorcade.  No westys or syncros.  I suspect he was over at Robin Williams or Feinstein's for a fund raising dinner.  And yes, I saw the president.  His car was within a car length of mine when he passed by.  It looked like a party!
