A Sawsall is not nearly = as controllable as a saber saw.  I use both often, but I find the reciprocating saw (such as Sawsall brand) is best for heavy, rough = jobs.  If I want to hack off a pipe, cut a hole in a wall, or cut the nails = holding a stud in place, the reciprocating saw is great.  For control, use a = saber saw.
