Hi All

When I bought my syncro I discovered that the PO had had the rear hatch reprayed and the klutz that had put the hatch back had connected the rear window washer pipe to the nipple on the lock activator! The PO had complained that the rear washer was faulty, but little did I know that the lock activator was drowning in washer fluid! This caused all my locks to sort of lock & unlock uncontrollably each time I pushed down the driver's knob.

Solution: Removed & dismantled the activator, cleaned out the motor with petrol (gasoline) and left all the little bits out to dry. I did not clean off the existing white grease but just liberally resprayed everything with electrical lube (we have something called Q20). Carefully re-assembled and hey presto! no more problems....

Suggestion: Try to find which activator may be causing your CL to stuff around. You can do this by disconnecting one at a time while you test. Unfortunately you are going to have to remove panels to get to the wires. Hope this helps.

(You are doing clutch,CV's and heads this weekend? Brave man.... :-)

<< First, I would lock the driver's side, and wait up to a full minute for the rest of the doors to lock.
Then, the passenger/side/rear doors would lock and unlock until I locked the driver's side.
Now I occationaly get the lock/unlock thing, but mostly I have to lock the driver and the passenger seperately.
Catch is, wehn I lock the passenger side, the side and rear lock with it.
