most of the time the oil light coming = on is due to using the wrong filter and/or viscosity of oil.... (should be using = 20-50 oil and Mahle/Mann or VW supplied filter) ... on the other hand it could be something more serious... you won't know unless you change the filter an = oil... and even then there are a couple of minor things it could be... oil = pressure sensor bad, wiring bad, oil pressure unit in the instrument panel... but = oil & filter is the most likely...

I am looking at buy a 89 vanagon = and while i was test driving the vechile
the oil light came on. i checked = the oil and it was full. what could it be
something expensive or not = should i walk or not book says 6000 he wants
3,000$. its wolfsberg = edition and is in primo condition. the only thing
that scared me was the = oil light coming on and staying on. when i pushed
in the = clutch it stoped and the started back up. got back to the lot shut
it = off checked the oil it was full then started it back up and it was = off
then as i reved it up it started again?
