This summer I rebuild a 1.9 engine core for my 1983.5 van.This is = for those interested-what I did and cost.

Beginning of the year,I brought a 1.9 engine from a list = member,Jason D in Austin,Texas,replacing with a 2.1 due to coolant leak(the heads were pitted).

    Total cost: $C2042.61 + extras = (like,beer,oil,cleaning solvents etc) so approx $C2200 I have a great      

           &n= bsp;         clean running engine except for a small oil leak  around pulley seal.As = you can see there are ways

           &n= bsp;         of doing it cheaper.

 

    Haynes and Bentley manuals were a great = help.With a rebuilt eng core,it took only 3 days to replace

    engine and be back on the road.
