Just a guess but Saterday I was under = my 84 1.9L replacing the LONG coolant pipes. I looked at the radiator wondering how = it comes out if I never needed to. It looks like there are two brackets = that fasten to the cross member and it most likely drops down and both hoses are at = the bottom. The only thing might be getting it high enough to get it out. = I've worked on many golfs and jetta's and they are usally stright foward to = get out. The vanagons seem to be that way too but they just require more of it!
