Hi Jay,
Have you checked your glowplugs to make = sure they're not burned out? Mine gradually got harder to start, as one by = one, the glowplugs died and then it was really difficult to start when cold, but = ok when hot.
you disconnect the wire to them and = measure them (individually) with an ohmmeter. Place one lead of the meter to the = engine block near the plug, and the other on the plug terminal. Basically they = will look like a very low resistance, about 2 or 3 ohms.  If they're = burned out, there will be no deflection of the meter needle, they will be open circuit.
