Subject: merry xmas from =
brazil
merry xmas everyone!
for those who have been following my engine progress, i have turn =
up
successful on my first rebuilt instal in my 90 gl. thanks again =
to jason
yasment who froze with me while pulling the old and implanting the =
new.
boston bobs beautiful piece of machinery will bring me many miles of
love! the only initial start up problems were distributor timing =
way off
but quickly remedied. the other problem was a bad oil pressure =
sensor
wire connection causing the buzzing about 2500 rpm. i replaced =
the wire
and have enjoyed 25 buzz free miles. i have since left to spend =
the
holidays in brazil, what a shame!, and made arrangements to have a =
mechanic
double check my work and makes sure everything is set properly like =
throttle
switch etc...
here in brazil kombis are everywhere. i counted 87 from the =
airport
to my girlfriends parents house about a ten minute drive! for =
those
unaware, they are still made here with the old style kombi body but =
they are
liquid cooled, some are still aircooled. colors are mostly white =
and
they are used primarily as work vans. not a noticeable bus =
following
here like in america. in fact, my girlfriend says the busses are =
not
desirable cars for people to own, only the poor and blue collar =
workers used
as delivery vans. her family finds it amusing that i am so =
impressed
with these vans here and i am always wacthing them. i would love =
to
drive one here and check out the engine. does anyone know the =
main
differences in the way these are manufactured? oh yeah, prices on them =
new
here are about 7,000+ Reals which amounts to about $3500 =
american.
again thanks for all the group support with my engine =
install!
happy holidays everyone and feliz natal!
