Yes. the rear side windows are different from '88-'91 when vw went to the
fresh air venting system in the rear side windows as opposed to the fresh air
ventilation thru the front doors in the 80-87 vans. therefore a '80-'87 rear
side window will not fit on a 88-'91, and visa versa.

also vw changed the sliding door window in '85 when thet changed the sliding
doors. the 80-84 slider door window is bigger than the 85-91 slider door
window.
