I am en route from Boston To Boulder in my new (to me) '90 Syncro Westy.
Coming through St. Louis my coolant warning light came on.  After
immediately pulling over I discovered that the coolant in the main coolant
take had fallen below the sensor thus tripping my light.  The van was not
overheating, and I found no leaks.  BUT, the expansion tank is nearly
overflowing!  What is going on??  Is this a coolant cap issue??

do you have the bentley manual w/ you?   it sounds like you have air in the
system.  were there any head leaks prior to purchase?   i had the same thing
happen to me yesterday.  was there steam/coolant coming out of the expansion
tank?   do you know how to bleed the system?
