I think itwas Bill D. that suggested going to a
hose shop and having a stainless steel #4 Aeroqup teflon hose made forthe
remote mounting of the VDO electric OP sender and I was wondering where the
new mounting location ended up(by driver's side head or to the rear?), how it
was attached and to what, and how long the hose needed to be. I'm
assuming that you went male 1/8" on one end and female on the other.
This is a great idea. My local hose making place
quopted me a price of $12 for a hose up to 18 " in length. VDO wanted
way more than that and you're getting a swedged fitting on each end.
I'm giving up on my conglomeration of brass
elbows, nipples, and T connectors when I put the new motor in. I will
still have a brass T in the block so I can use the factory sender(90 GL) which
would give me the option of going to either the side or the rear.
