= ; I've got a few private inquires regarding where and how to use the
head gasket sealant.  Here are my response to those questions which= I thought
would be of benefit to all.
Use the sealant on the head gaskets= , the cylinder base 0-rings and
head nut bases and threads. No need to use it on the metal combustion ch= amber
gaskets.  I always smear a light coating of the Permatex Copper sea= lant on
all 0-rings just for security.  Make sure you get a good liberal co= ating on
the rubber head gasket.  This is what keeps the gasket sealed to bo= th
surfaces during the expansion/contraction of the dissimilar metals which=
allows the coolant to get trapped in between the rubber gasket and the
aluminium head material leading to the pitting.
I do not know anything about the co= rrosive qualities of any of the
sealants.  I have always used either Permatex Copper or GE Copper w= ithout
problems.  I cannot comment on other sealants.
