I did this a couple of years ago.  Pulled the tank after advice from Wilford.  There are return lines which go bad, plastic pieces which break, a crossover pipe, and various grommets.  Not wanting to do the job again, I replaced everything.  You could see where the leak had been going for a long time, beginning from a grommet on the top of the tank.  No more problems after that, she was good as new.  I have the crossover pipe if you want it.  It was still good.  There is a message in the archives with all the part numbers.  Can't remember where the return line enters the tank, but I don't think that is your problem.

Has anyone had any experience with the fittings on top of the fuel tank leaking?  Where does the return line enter the tank?  I have chased down the gasoline smell to the front of the van.  Lines to vent tanks under front doors were replaced 2 years ago.  Gasoline smell appears to be coming in front air vents.
