Matt,

<<<I will pay for proper installation and>repair/replacement of the
crossmenbers. >>>

I WOULD insist that they FIX IT they way it was BEFORE they damaged it.

I am currently in litigation with a gas station that I got gas contaminated
with dirt.  They said not... I have evidence that shows otherwise.

It damaged my fuel pump, fuel tank, injectors, +? other damage.

So far @$1800 to fix.

It was going to be $800+ for the fuel install alone, plus all the parts that
need to be replaced.

The Vanagon fuel tank has a prefilter in the bottom of the tank. That is why
they do not have a filter BEFORE the fuel pump on the outside, they put it on
the inside (This is also you do not want to ever seal a 86 to 92 Vanagon fuel
tank) With the crushing of your tank the prefilter is damaged and LETTING
LARGE particles run into your FUEL PUMP and damaging it.

Tell them that IF THEY delay, the consequential damages will add up and
include a new fuel pump.  PUT a filter on before the fuel pump!

I would tank them to court or at least plan for small claims court.

COLLECT YOU evidence, Pictures that show your tank before...
People that saw it before.

You have the Attorney General of your state to file a complaint, Write to the
local TV News consumer protection (In Raleigh, NC it is Five on Your Side)
Stand up for your rights, they WILL tell you NO hoping you will go away
without a noise.

Tell they about your contacts with potential customers (fellow Vagoneers) all
over the US and WORLD and they will boycott Sears due to Bad costumer service.

Do not accept that you must pay ANYTHING to fix their incompetence!!!
