That would be a 1986 Wolfsburg Edition = Vanagon Camper. Vanagon.com has the complete model information here: = http://www.vanagon.com/info/years/1986/index.html#1986_vanagon_camp= er
It used the base vanagon model for the = conversion instead of the GL model, that's why it came with very few options = omitting items such as the window trim with the chrome = strips.
It is hollow behind the panel where the = light mounts, and there are a couple of cable bundles inside, nothing else.

Subject: Question for = Week-ender or Multi-Van Owners

Hi List,
I have two questions about the Vanagon = with the pop-top, the bed and the
funky little refrigerator but not the = sink, refrigerator, stove unit that is
in a full camper. It's an 86 with = Wolfsburg decals.
First, what is the = correct name for this vehicle? (I know there have
been many threads on this.)
Secondly, why is there no "shelf" along = the edge of the pop-top inside
on the driver's side, like there is on a = full camper?  It's such a handy
storage space.  What would = happen if that long piece of plastic or metal that
the light is attached to = was cut down into a sort of shelf?  Would it be
difficult, or tricky? =  It seems to be hollow.  What's behind there, besides =
the wiring for the light?
Hope everyone is camping = their hearts out this summer! TIA, Vicki
