Hi Alan:
Try LOADS of silicone spray, and show the rubber
parts who's boss. They do come apart, but I forget which piece is
first. The lower suspension arm bushings are tough too - I drilled
those out, then pushed them out in a vise with a mandrel (large socket).
The new ones went in easy with silicone.

When replacing a drop
link I tried to replace original rubber bushings and other assorted rubber,
however I could not seem to compress to fit. Has anyone
tried to do this? Any suggestions? Alan
