Yeah and that rare '87 sunroof van is worth what, probably less than
a hardtop on the market since it doesn't have A/C.  The sunroof is a
great way to do a safe conversion, that '87 isn't going to be worth jack
5 years from now, and less in 10 to anyone except someone who thinks
it's worth something.



look at the old beetles.  they were a dime a dozen 30 years ago, and now are
rare.  Back in 1977 if you told anyone you were going to restore your '67 bug
and it would be worth more than what it cost new, they'd tell you to get your
head examined.  even AMC Pacers are collectible now.  Someday vanagons will
be collectible too, just like the older buses are now.  this guy can do
whatever he wants with his van, just like the guy who took a '49 Hebmuller
and chopped it up into a drag racing bug.. (i saw this car - what
sacreliedge)  my point was just that when you have something that is rare,
and limited production, not many of that particular model sold, then why
knowingly destroy it?
