I've been told that there is 4.6 gallons in the tank...many places have a 5 gallon minimum...but I just pull up and ask them to fill it. I try to go to professional places like ferrellgas, etc as they really know what they are doing...they tend to use the "spitter" first...then fill it. I've had times when they only fill 1.2 gallons....
Subject: How much propane in the tank?
With all this talk of how long a Westy fridge will run on propane, I was
wondering if it is possible to know how much propane is in the tank at a
particular time. I don't know of any guage so is there some way to measure
it or do you just have to wait until you run out? Can you fill up a
half-full propane tank just to be safe or do you have to evacuate the gas
first?
