I got one for you guys.
My 85 with 140K wouldn't start, as a matter of =
fact it
wouldn't even crank. I got the traditional lights on but no
cranking. After consulting the Bible according to Bentley I traced =
it back
to the ignition switch. I ordered a used one and just unplugged =
the old
one and plugged in the new one without pulling the steering wheel just =
to see if
it worked. It cranked beautifully, but it wouldn't catch. I =
checked
the ignition coil resistances, according to Bentley the coil is
fine.
I tested the Hall sensor before I got the new =
ignition switch
and it was fine.
It could be;
1). I got a bum ignition switch =
from the
junkyard.
2). I fried the coil when I was
troubleshooting the original problem.
3). The ignition switch has to be =
mounted
on the steering column to be properly grounded???
Alternatively, can someone tell me how to =
hotwire
it. Maybe I can at least get it out of the Walmart parking
lot. :^ (
Any help would be lovely.
Thanks,
Matt
