I thnk that Vanagon trannys both manual and automatic are very
closely related to Audi 5000 / 100 trannys. Both are longitudinal
transaxles, and both come from VAG. The cases probably differ, but
I'll bet the guts are the same. If a 4spd auto exist for these Audis
it could probably be made to work in a Vanagon.
